Finding suitable moko case 6 8 kindle paperwhite alternatives depends on your daily reading habits and hardware requirements. The original MoKo slim case protects 6.8-inch 11th Generation Kindle Paperwhite models with a 3.89-ounce synthetic leather hardback. Its 0.55-inch profile features automatic sleep and wake support, a magnetic closure, and a front lid that folds backward for one-handed reading.
You might want an alternative if your setup requires specific features not found on this base design. You may need an integrated stand for hands-free viewing, a hand strap for one-handed holding, or an internal card slot. You might also look for a lighter 3.53-ounce weight, universal sizing for multiple devices, or different brands such as Fintie, CoBak, or HoYiXi. We selected the 6 options in this 2026 guide because their specs overlap with the original MoKo model, matching its 6.8-inch screen compatibility and protective folio structure while offering different functional hardware.
Our top pick: MoKo 6.8" Kindle Paperwhite Slim Case.
Comparing MoKo Slim Case Alternatives
MoKo Kindle Paperwhite & Colorsoft Stand Case
The MoKo Kindle Paperwhite and Colorsoft Stand Case gives you an integrated kickstand, an elastic hand strap, and an interior card pocket that the original slim model lacks. At 0.47 inches thick, this case is slightly slimmer than the original 0.55-inch hardback. However, adding these utility elements increases the weight from 3.89 ounces up to 4.93 ounces. You give up the featherweight feel of the original back shell in exchange for hands-free desktop support and a secure grip while reading standing up. Pick this alternative if you regularly place your e-reader on tables or want built-in strap support for extended reading sessions.
Fintie 6.8" Kindle Paperwhite Stand Case
Fintie's 6.8-inch Stand Case expands your viewing options by adding a built-in prop stand and an integrated holding strap. The original MoKo slim case focuses purely on a low-profile footprint, measuring 6.97 by 5.08 inches with a 0.55-inch thickness. In contrast, this Fintie case measures 7.09 by 5.12 inches and reaches 0.7 inches thick. You give up the compact, pocket-friendly lines of the MoKo hard shell to gain hands-free viewing angles and a dedicated hand strap. You should choose this Fintie folio if you read at a desk or counter and prefer having physical holding and standing aids over the slimmest possible dimensions.
HoYiXi 6-to-6.8-Inch Universal Leather Folio
The HoYiXi Universal Folio swaps synthetic leather for real leather and fits a broader range of 6-inch to 6.8-inch hardware. It adds a folding stand and an integrated hand strap for versatile holding. At 4.94 ounces and 0.59 inches thick, it is heavier and thicker than the original 3.89-ounce, 0.55-inch MoKo case. Because it uses a universal mounting design rather than a molded back shell, you lose the automatic magnetic sleep and wake function entirely. Pick this case if you own multiple e-readers of varying sizes or prefer natural leather, but stick to the original if you require automatic sleep-wake convenience.
CoBak 6.8" Kindle Paperwhite Smart Case
CoBak's 6.8-inch Smart Case matches the dedicated 11th Generation fit of the original MoKo while reducing overall bulk. It weighs 3.53 ounces and measures 0.5 inches thick, making it lighter and slightly thinner than the 3.89-ounce, 0.55-inch MoKo. It features waterproof PU leather alongside magnetic sleep-wake capabilities, giving you moisture resistance on the outer cover. However, it uses a full folio layout rather than the rigid hardback shell design found on the MoKo. Choose the CoBak case if you want to trim down weight for long reading sessions and prefer waterproof PU exterior material for added surface protection around liquids.
FINTIE Kindle Paperwhite & Colorsoft Stand Case
This Fintie stand cover includes a kickstand, an elastic hand strap, and an interior card slot while expanding compatibility across 6.8-inch and 7-inch Kindle models. It measures 0.39 inches thick and 6.89 inches long, creating a slimmer profile than the 0.55-inch, 6.97-inch MoKo case. However, its built-in hardware increases total weight to 5.8 ounces, making it almost two ounces heavier than the 3.89-ounce MoKo. You give up an ultra-light carry to secure hands-free propping and multipurpose storage. You should pick this model if you switch between tabletop viewing and one-handed holding and value dual-generation screen compatibility over total weight savings.
CoBak Kindle Paperwhite 6.8" Stand & Strap Case
The CoBak Stand and Strap Case incorporates an easel kickstand, a hand strap, a card slot, and magnetic sleep-wake support. While the original MoKo keeps weight down to 3.89 ounces, this feature-rich CoBak weighs 7.37 ounces. That nearly doubles the weight in your hand, making it noticeably heavier during continuous handheld reading. In return, you gain hands-free desk propping and an elastic strap for grip security, plus storage for notes or cards. You should choose this CoBak alternative if you primarily read at a desk or table and prefer integrated stand versatility over the MoKo cover's lightweight, back-shell portability.

Frequently asked questions
Which alternative to the MoKo slim case is the lightest?
The CoBak 6.8-inch Kindle Paperwhite Smart Case is the lightest option on this list at 3.53 ounces. That makes it lighter than the original MoKo slim cover, which weighs 3.89 ounces. The CoBak case uses waterproof PU leather and includes automatic magnetic sleep-wake support, giving you minimal bulk during everyday reading sessions on an 11th Generation device.
Do all 6.8-inch Kindle Paperwhite alternative cases support auto wake and sleep?
No, not every alternative case includes automatic wake and sleep functionality. While fitted models like the CoBak Smart Case provide magnetic sleep-wake features, universal options differ. For example, the HoYiXi 6-to-6.8-Inch Universal Leather Folio omits magnetic auto-wake support entirely to fit various hardware sizes. You must press the power button manually when using universal folio covers.
Which alternative case provides the most compact thickness?
The FINTIE Kindle Paperwhite & Colorsoft Stand Case measures 0.39 inches thick, making it the thinnest profile listed. In comparison, the standard MoKo slim cover measures 0.55 inches thick. Despite its slim depth, this FINTIE model includes a built-in stand, a hand strap, and an interior card slot, though it weighs 5.8 ounces.
Can you find an alternative case that fits both 6.8-inch and 7-inch Kindles?
Yes, several alternative cases accommodate both screen sizes. The MoKo Kindle Paperwhite & Colorsoft Stand Case, the FINTIE model EKAZ004, and the CoBak Stand & Strap Case work across 6.8-inch and 7-inch Kindle hardware. These models feature built-in kickstands and hand straps, making them practical choices if you migrate between different Kindle screen generations over time.
Which alternative case is best if you own multiple different e-readers?
The HoYiXi 6-to-6.8-Inch Universal Leather Folio is designed specifically for multi-device owners. Instead of a custom molded tray, it accommodates various devices measuring between 6 and 6.8 inches. It features a genuine leather exterior, an integrated folding stand, and a hand strap. However, you sacrifice magnetic auto-wake support when choosing this universal design.
Which stand case option has the heaviest build?
The CoBak Kindle Paperwhite 6.8-inch Stand & Strap Case is the heaviest alternative on this list at 7.37 ounces. The extra weight comes from its integrated kickstand, elastic hand strap, and card slot. While heavier than the 3.89-ounce MoKo slim model, it provides hands-free reading and magnetic sleep-wake capabilities.
