6 Best Alternatives to the Apple iPad 11-inch 512GB Silver (2026)

Comparing iPad Alternatives

Apple iPad 10.2-inch 128GB Silver

The Apple iPad 10.2-inch 128GB Silver offers a more budget-friendly entry point if you prioritize portability over raw power. It features a smaller 10.2-inch display compared to the 11-inch Liquid Retina screen on the original, which reduces screen real estate for creative work. You also get less storage, dropping from 512GB to 128GB, which limits offline media libraries. The device is slightly heavier at 1.09 pounds versus 1.05 pounds, despite its smaller frame. This model lacks the A16 chip, meaning slower performance for intensive tasks like video editing. It is a solid choice for casual browsing and reading, but you will notice the difference in display quality and processing speed.

Apple iPad 10.2-inch 64GB Silver

The Apple iPad 10.2-inch 64GB Silver is the most compact and lowest-capacity option here. You sacrifice significant storage, going down to just 64GB from the original’s 512GB, which restricts app installations and media downloads. The screen size remains at 10.2 inches, smaller than the 11-inch display you are used to. It weighs 1 pound, making it the lightest option, which aids one-handed use. This model is designed for lightweight tasks like web browsing and video streaming. You give up the high-end performance and large storage space for a device that fits easily in smaller bags. It is suitable only if your usage is strictly limited to basic productivity and entertainment without heavy local file storage needs.

Apple iPad Air 11-Inch M4 1TB

The Apple iPad Air 11-inch M4 1TB upgrades you to desktop-class performance with the M4 chip, far exceeding the A16 chip in the original. You gain massive storage capacity, jumping from 512GB to 1TB, which is ideal for professional video editing and large asset libraries. The device supports Wi-Fi 7, offering faster connectivity than the Wi-Fi 6 in the original iPad. It is slightly thinner at 0.24 inches and lighter at 1.02 pounds, improving portability. The screen remains 11 inches, maintaining a familiar form factor. This model is best for power users who need maximum speed and storage. You pay for premium features, but the performance leap and connectivity standards make it a superior tool for creative professionals and heavy multitaskers.

Apple iPad Pro 12.9-Inch (512GB, Silver)

The Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch 512GB Silver provides a significantly larger 12.9-inch Liquid Retina display, offering more workspace for drawing and multitasking. You keep the same 512GB storage capacity, ensuring ample room for files. The device is lighter at 10.4 ounces, though the larger screen changes the balance. It features a model from the 4th generation, which may lack the latest chip found in newer models. The width is 8.9 inches, making it wider than the 11-inch original. This option is ideal for users who prioritize screen real estate for creative apps or split-screen workflows. You gain a larger canvas for art but lose the compact 11-inch form factor. It is a strong alternative if display size is your primary concern over portability.

Apple iPad Pro 12.9-Inch (M2, Cellular)

The Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch M2 Cellular adds mobile connectivity, which the original Wi-Fi-only model lacks. You get 5G support for internet access on the go, a feature absent in the base 11-inch version. The storage is lower at 128GB, a reduction from the original’s 512GB, which may require cloud reliance. The M2 chip offers strong performance, though it is an older generation than the A16 in terms of architecture lineage, it remains powerful. The 12.9-inch XDR display provides superior brightness and contrast for HDR content. Weighing 1.51 pounds, it is heavier and larger than the original. This model suits users who need cellular data and a premium screen, accepting the trade-off of less local storage and a bulkier design.

Apple iPad 11-inch 128GB (Renewed)

The Apple iPad 11-inch 128GB (Renewed) offers the same 11-inch form factor and A16 chip performance as the original, maintaining familiar ergonomics. However, you lose significant storage, dropping to 128GB from 512GB, which limits offline content. This is a renewed device, meaning it is refurbished rather than new. The weight remains 1.05 pounds, identical to the original. It retains Wi-Fi connectivity but lacks cellular options. This model is best for users who want the original’s performance and size but need to save money or do not require large local storage. You get the same display and processor but with reduced capacity and a refurbished status. It is a practical choice for basic tasks, browsing, and media consumption where high storage is not critical.
