CoBak Cases Compared Side
Material and Feel
The CoBak 6" Kindle Basic Magnetic Case uses a waterproof PU leather exterior with an anti-scratch microfiber interior. This combination offers a classic cross pattern design and a premium tactile experience. In contrast, the CoBak 6" Kindle Clear TPU Case is made from flexible silicone TPU. This transparent material showcases the original look of your Kindle while providing protection against daily wear and scratches. You get either a structured leather feel or a soft, clear plastic touch depending on your preference.
Closure and Protection
The Basic Magnetic Case features a magnetic closure that helps the cover close securely. This design provides 360-degree protection and includes a built-in smart sensor for auto wake and sleep functionality. The Clear TPU Case uses a snap-on attachment method. It lacks a magnetic cover, so it relies on the flexible TPU material to shield your device. You must manually wake or sleep your Kindle with the Clear case, whereas the Basic case handles this automatically through its smart sensor integration.
Weight and Bulk
Weight is a significant factor for portable readers. The Basic Magnetic Case weighs 3.17 ounces and measures 0.51 inches in height. The Clear TPU Case is noticeably lighter at 2.29 ounces and thinner at 0.43 inches in height. Both cases maintain a slim profile, but the Clear TPU option adds minimal bulk. If you prioritize keeping your device as light and thin as possible, the Clear TPU case is the better choice for everyday carry.
Dimensions and Fit
Both cases are designed exclusively for the 6-inch Kindle 2024 and 2022 models. The Basic Magnetic Case measures 6.3 inches in length and 4.72 inches in width. The Clear TPU Case is slightly longer at 6.38 inches and narrower at 4.41 inches in width. These minor dimensional differences reflect the internal structures required for the magnetic closure in the Basic case versus the snap-on design of the Clear case. Both fit your device perfectly without interference.
Design and Aesthetics
The Basic Magnetic Case comes in various colors, including black, golden brown, and sage green, with a classic cross pattern. It is designed to look like a traditional book cover. The Clear TPU Case is transparent, allowing the original color and design of your Kindle to show through. It also comes in options like clear glitter or tartan patterns. If you want to preserve the look of your e-reader, the Clear TPU is ideal. If you prefer a distinct, colored cover, the Basic case offers more visual variety.
