Comparing the Fabater Alternatives
PocketBook Verse Pro 6-Inch E-Reader
The PocketBook Verse Pro upgrades your hardware with IPX8 waterproofing, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, which the Fabater lacks. It features an E Ink Carta HD screen and Text-to-Speech functionality for listening through wireless headphones or external speakers. Both devices offer 16 GB of internal storage and touch navigation. However, the Fabater includes an integrated speaker for direct audio playback without external accessories, plus a memory card slot that accepts cards up to 32 GB. At 6.56 ounces, this model is also slightly heavier than the 165-gram Fabater. Choose the Verse Pro if you want water resistance for reading near pools or baths and prefer wireless connectivity over built-in speakers.
PocketBook Verse Pro 6" Waterproof E-Reader
This Passion Red version of the PocketBook Verse Pro adds IPX8 water protection along with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Its 6-inch E Ink Carta screen matches the Fabater in size and 16 GB base storage while adding Text-to-Speech support for supported documents. What you give up is the Fabater's standalone hardware perks: you do not get physical page turn buttons, an internal speaker for direct listening, or a card slot to expand memory past 16 GB. At 6.56 ounces, it also carries slightly more weight than the 165-gram Fabater. Pick this model if you need water protection and wireless audio support in a distinctive red finish.
Wisoqu 5" E-Reader with Pen
The Wisoqu shifts focus toward note-taking and compact portability. It features a smaller 5-inch HD display paired with an active pen and a dedicated handwriting board, plus an integrated camera. In contrast, the Fabater provides a larger 6-inch E-Ink screen, physical page-turn buttons, and a built-in speaker for audiobooks. The Fabater also delivers 16 GB of internal storage with support for 32 GB memory cards and a 2500mAh battery rated for weeks of reading. You sacrifice the Fabater's roomier reading area and dedicated audio hardware. Pick the Wisoqu if you want an ultra-compact device for jotting handwritten notes and taking photos alongside basic text reading.
GOWENIC 6-Inch E-Reader with Page Buttons
The GOWENIC 6-Inch E-Reader doubles the Fabater’s base capacity by providing 32 GB of onboard storage straight out of the box. Like the Fabater, it features a 6-inch HD screen and physical page buttons for manual navigation. However, it lacks the Fabater’s adjustable front light, meaning you cannot read in low light without an external light source. You also miss out on the Fabater’s touchscreen interface, built-in audiobook speaker, and 2500mAh battery built for weeks of continuous use. Choose this GOWENIC model if your top priority is double the built-in file storage without needing to purchase an additional memory card, and you primarily read under ambient room lighting.
GOWENIC 5-Inch E-Reader with Handwriting Board
The GOWENIC 5-Inch E-Reader trades standard reading space for interactive tools. It offers a smaller 5-inch HD screen, an integrated handwriting board with a stylus, and a built-in camera. This square 5.12-inch design makes it easier to write quick notes on the go. By comparison, the Fabater focuses strictly on reading comfort, offering a larger 6-inch glare-free E-Ink screen, physical page-turn buttons, an adjustable front light, and a built-in speaker for audiobooks. The Fabater also gives you 16 GB of storage expandable up to 32 GB. Pick this 5-inch GOWENIC alternative if you prioritize writing handwritten notes and capturing photos over standard 6-inch book layout dimensions.
Amazon Kindle 6-Inch E-Reader
The Amazon Kindle 6-Inch E-Reader shares the Fabater’s 6-inch screen size, 16 GB of internal storage, and adjustable front light. It features a slim 0.32-inch profile and provides up to 6 weeks of battery life on a single charge. However, the Kindle relies entirely on touchscreen gestures for navigation, omitting the Fabater’s tactile physical page buttons. It also lacks the Fabater’s memory card slot, which supports cards up to 32 GB, and does not have an integrated speaker for listening to audiobooks out loud. Select the Kindle if you want a proven, slim everyday reader with weeks of endurance and do not need physical buttons or expandable card storage.
