6 Best Alternatives to the Fabater 6-Inch Touchscreen E-Reader (2026)

How each alternative compares

GOWENIC 6-Inch E-Reader

The GOWENIC 6-Inch E-Reader matches the Fabater with 16GB of storage and an HD resolution, but it targets budget-conscious buyers. It shares the same portable form factor, making it suitable for travel. You get similar battery endurance and basic interactive tools. The main difference lies in the brand ecosystem and specific interface nuances. If you want a direct spec swap without upgrading features, this is a viable option. It sacrifices premium display technologies for a lower price point. Choose this if you prioritize cost savings over advanced connectivity or waterproofing. It retains the essential reading experience while trimming unnecessary extras for everyday use.

PocketBook Verse Pro 6-Inch E-Reader

The PocketBook Verse Pro steps up with E Ink Carta display technology, offering superior text clarity compared to the Fabater’s standard HD screen. It adds waterproofing, a significant advantage for reading in wet environments. You also gain Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing for wireless downloads and audiobook playback via text-to-speech. The Fabater lacks these wireless features and water resistance. This model is heavier and more expensive, reflecting its robust build. Pick this if you read outdoors or want audio support. It gives up some simplicity for advanced durability and multimedia capabilities, making it better for serious readers who need versatility.

PocketBook Verse Pro 6" Waterproof E-Reader

This PocketBook Verse Pro variant offers the same premium features as the other model, including E Ink Carta technology and waterproofing. It differs from the Fabater by providing a more durable, spill-resistant design for various reading conditions. You get Bluetooth audio support and wireless connectivity, which the Fabater does not offer. The storage and resolution are comparable, but the display quality is higher. Choose this if you need a reliable device for travel or outdoor use. It is ideal for those who value physical durability and audio features. The trade-off is a higher complexity and cost compared to the basic touchscreen interface of the Fabater, ensuring better protection and functionality.

Wisoqu 5" E-Reader with Pen

The Wisoqu 5-Inch E-Reader reduces the screen size from 6 inches to 5 inches, making it more compact and portable. It includes a handwriting board and camera, features absent in the Fabater. This model suits users who need note-taking capabilities on the go. You sacrifice screen real estate for multifunctionality. The resolution remains HD, but the smaller display may not be ideal for PDFs. Pick this if you prioritize portability and annotation tools over large-format reading. It is lighter and easier to handle with one hand. The trade-off is a less immersive reading experience for text-heavy documents, but it excels in utility for travelers who need to capture ideas quickly.

GOWENIC 5-Inch E-Reader with Handwriting Board

The GOWENIC 5-Inch E-Reader with Handwriting Board offers a similar compact form factor to the Wisoqu, with a 5-inch screen. It includes a camera and handwriting support, differing from the Fabater’s pure reading focus. This device is designed for users who need portable note-taking alongside reading. You give up the larger 6-inch display for enhanced portability and utility. The resolution is HD, ensuring clear text. Choose this if you value multifunctionality and a smaller footprint. It is best for travelers who need to jot down notes or take photos. The trade-off is a reduced screen size for documents, but it provides essential tools for active readers who need more than just text consumption.

Fabater 6-Inch E-Reader with Buttons

The Fabater 6-Inch E-Reader with Buttons offers the same 6-inch screen size and 16GB storage as the touchscreen model. The key difference is the inclusion of physical buttons for navigation. This suits readers who prefer tactile controls over touch interactions. You get similar format support and battery life. Choose this if you find touch screens less intuitive or if you wear gloves. It retains the same portability and audio support. The trade-off is the absence of a touchscreen interface, which some may find less modern. This model is ideal for commuters who value precise page turning and physical feedback. It offers a familiar reading experience with added control options for those who dislike gesture-based navigation.
