Looking Beyond the FINTIE Nook GlowLight 3 Folio? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

If you are evaluating fintie folio case nook glowlight alternatives, this guide highlights 6 protective options for various reading devices. The original Fintie Folio Case is tailored specifically for the Barnes & Noble NOOK GlowLight 3 (2017 Release, BNRV520). It delivers reliable protection using a synthetic leather exterior and a soft interior that prevents scratches. Weighing only 2.4 ounces, the case adds minimal bulk while securing the device through an interior pocket and a magnetic closure that leaves the screen unblocked by straps.
You might still require something different if you read on another platform, carry a larger display, or prefer alternative materials. Upgrading your hardware may lead you to brands like Kobo, reMarkable, or Kindle, requiring sizes such as 6 inches, 10.2 inches, or 11.8 inches. You might also prioritize features like built-in hand straps, pen holders, or genuine leather construction. These 6 alternatives were selected because their core specifications overlap with the original folio design, giving you comparable screen coverage, secure closures, and practical daily utility.
Our top pick: Fintie Nook GlowLight 3 Folio Case.
How the Alternatives Compare
Amazon Kindle Scribe Leather Folio Cover
The Amazon Kindle Scribe Folio upgrades your exterior material to natural leather in Caramel, departing from the synthetic leather build of the Fintie Nook GlowLight 3 case. It relies on magnetic mounting rather than the Fintie model's slide-in interior pocket, leaving the edges of your device exposed for faster detachment. However, you give up compatibility with Barnes & Noble hardware, as this cover is built specifically for large-format Kindle Scribe devices. You also lose the vibrant Blossom pattern of the Fintie folio. You should pick this cover if you read and write on a Kindle Scribe and want leather protection with magnetic attachment.
AFesar Nook Simple Touch Folio Case
The AFesar Folio Case targets legacy Barnes & Noble hardware, providing dedicated cutouts for the hardware buttons on the Nook Simple Touch and older GlowLight models. While the Fintie case is tailored for the NOOK GlowLight 3 BNRV520, AFesar shapes its frame for earlier generation readers. AFesar uses black PU leather rather than Fintie's synthetic Blossom finish. In exchange for legacy button alignment, you accept extra bulk. The AFesar weighs 6.38 ounces and measures 0.94 inches thick, compared to the Fintie case at 2.4 ounces and 0.79 inches. Pick the AFesar folio if you maintain an older Simple Touch or classic GlowLight requiring physical button cutouts.
HGWALP 6" Universal Folio Stand Case
The HGWALP Universal Folio adds viewing stand functionality and an integrated hand strap, features missing from the basic Fintie folio. Measuring 0.47 inches thick, it offers a slimmer depth profile than Fintie’s 0.79 inches. Because it uses universal corner mounting for standard 6-inch screens, it fits various brands instead of locking you into a single chassis. The trade-off is precision and weight: you lose the Fintie case's exact BNRV520 port cutouts and magnetic closure, while carrying 4.23 ounces instead of 2.4 ounces. Pick the HGWALP case if you hold your device with a strap or read hands-free on flat surfaces across different 6-inch e-readers.
CoBak Kindle Scribe 10.2" Stand Folio Case
The CoBak Stand Folio caters to larger 10.2-inch screens and adds hands-free stand angles, an integrated pen holder, an included stylus, and auto sleep/wake capability. These productivity additions contrast with Fintie’s straightforward handheld folio design. However, CoBak trades away light carry specs: it weighs 13.8 ounces, almost six times the 2.4-ounce Fintie cover. It also abandons compact 6-inch e-reader sizing to accommodate 10.2-inch tablets in Sage Green. You give up the Fintie case's dedicated Nook GlowLight 3 fit. Choose the CoBak folio if you work on a 10.2-inch Kindle Scribe and need integrated stylus storage alongside desk-standing viewing angles.
Kwmobile Kobo Clara BW and Colour Nylon Folio
The kwmobile Folio uses a woven nylon exterior in petrol rather than the synthetic leather found on the Fintie Nook case. Built for the Kobo Clara BW and Colour, it provides a smaller footprint at 4.65 by 6.42 inches and 0.55 inches thick, compared to Fintie’s 5.31 by 7.09 inches and 0.79 inches. It maintains magnetic closure protection like the original. What you give up is NOOK GlowLight 3 compatibility and a fraction of lightness, as it weighs 3.53 ounces versus Fintie’s 2.4 ounces. Select the kwmobile folio if you own a Clara BW or Colour and prefer a slimmer nylon cover.
reMarkable Paper Pro Mosaic Weave Book Folio
The reMarkable Paper Pro Book Folio is engineered for an 11.8-inch display, incorporating magnetic device snapping, sensor-based auto locking, and dedicated Marker storage. Its burgundy mosaic weave fabric replaces Fintie's synthetic leather finish. You trade away standard pocket portability: at 1.05 pounds (16.8 ounces) and 12.1 by 8.93 inches, it is substantially larger and heavier than Fintie’s 2.4-ounce, 7.09-inch frame. You also lose compatibility with Barnes & Noble e-readers. Pick this reMarkable folio if you operate a Paper Pro tablet and require integrated stylus retention, sensor locking, and full-face magnetic attachment on a large-format device.
