Fintie Versus Amazon Cover Comparison
Compatibility
You must match the case to your specific device model. The Fintie case is designed exclusively for the 7-inch Kindle Oasis from the 10th and 9th generations, released in 2019 and 2017. It will not fit any other Kindle tablets. In contrast, the Amazon cover fits the Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (2024 release only), Kindle Colorsoft, and Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. This makes the Amazon option significantly more versatile if you own a Paperwhite or Colorsoft device. Choose Fintie only if you have an older Oasis model.
Material
The build materials differ between the two brands. Fintie uses synthetic leather for the exterior and a soft interior lining to prevent scratches on your device. This provides a structured, leather-like feel. The Amazon cover is made from fabric composed of 100% recycled post-consumer polyester. This material choice supports sustainability goals and offers a different tactile experience. Amazon also notes that the packaging is largely made from wood fiber-based materials. If you prefer traditional leather aesthetics, Fintie is the better choice. If you prioritize recycled materials, Amazon leads.
Stand Function
How you hold your device matters for comfort. The Fintie case features a flip stand design that allows you to adjust the Kindle to multiple angles securely. This is useful for hands-free reading or viewing at different heights. The Amazon cover folds back for easy one-handed reading but does not offer multiple adjustable stand angles. It remains on the device for charging while folded. If you need a stable, multi-angle stand for desk use, Fintie provides that functionality. The Amazon cover is simpler and relies on your hand or a flat surface.
Dimensions
Physical size affects portability and pocket fit. The Fintie case measures 6.5 inches in length, 5.71 inches in width, and 0.79 inches in height. It weighs 5.8 ounces. The Amazon cover data does not list specific dimensions or weight, so you cannot compare the bulk directly. However, Amazon describes its design as thin and lightweight to allow for comfortable reading. Without exact specs for the Amazon cover, you cannot determine which is physically smaller. You must rely on the listed specs for Fintie and general descriptions for Amazon.
Color Options
Aesthetics are personal, but the available choices vary. Fintie offers two color options: Blossom and Starry Sky. These are specific to the Kindle Oasis model. The Amazon cover is available in three colors: Raspberry, Jade, and Black. These options are for the Paperwhite and Colorsoft models. Since the devices are different, direct color comparison is limited by compatibility. However, Amazon provides a wider range of standard colors like Black and Jade. If you prefer specific shades like Raspberry, Amazon is your only option for that color palette.
