Good fit for
You should consider this device if you want a basic reader with a larger, colorful display. The 8 GB storage holds a decent library of books. The water-proof shell protects against accidental spills, making it suitable for poolside or bathroom reading. The adjustable font and brightness settings help reduce eye strain during long sessions. It suits users who prefer simple navigation with flip-book and bookmark functions over complex smart features.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you need high-resolution e-ink for daylight readability. This device uses a colorful screen, which differs from standard e-paper technology. It lacks mention of Wi-Fi connectivity or app stores. You cannot expect advanced formatting or cloud sync features. If you require deep integration with major ebook retailers or high-end performance, this basic ARM9-based reader will not meet your needs. It is limited to local file management.
Verdict: This reader offers a colorful display and splash protection for casual use. It fits users who prioritize durability and simplicity over advanced features.
Key specs explained
Screen Size: 7"
The 7-inch display offers a larger canvas than typical 6-inch e-readers, making text easier to read without frequent scrolling. This size balances portability with comfort, allowing you to hold the device in one hand while still enjoying a spacious reading area. It is ideal if you prefer not to squint at small fonts or need more space for complex layouts.
Display Type: Colorful Screen
This device features a color display rather than a monochrome e-ink panel. You can view images, illustrations, and graphics in full color, which is helpful for comics, children's books, or magazines. Unlike traditional e-readers, this screen may not offer the same glare-free paper-like feel in direct sunlight, but it provides a more vibrant visual experience for mixed-media content.
Storage Capacity: 8 GB
The 8 GB of internal storage provides ample space for thousands of text-based eBooks. You can store a large library of novels, manuals, or documents without needing external media. This capacity is sufficient for most casual readers. If you plan to store many high-resolution images or large PDFs, you might fill this space faster, so consider the available space for your specific needs.
Water Proof Design
The unit includes a water-proof design for effective protection against spills or splashes. This feature adds durability for reading near sinks, pools, or in humid environments. However, the data specifies that it cannot be submerged in water. You should treat this as splash resistance rather than full waterproofing, allowing for peace of mind during accidental spills or light rain exposure.
Design and build quality
According to the listing, the Goshyda BK7019 features a water-proof design. This construction offers effective protection against spills or rain, though the device cannot be submerged in water. You can carry it to the beach or poolside without immediate worry, provided you keep it out of deep water. The build prioritizes durability for casual outdoor reading sessions.
The unit measures 7 inches diagonally, providing a larger canvas than standard 6-inch models. This size helps reduce eye strain by allowing larger text without constant scrolling. The colorful screen adds visual clarity for images or illustrated books. While the listing does not specify the exact weight, the compact form factor suggests it remains portable for one-handed use during commutes or travel.
Internal storage is fixed at 8 GB. This capacity holds a modest library of text files and some images. You can expand storage using a memory card, as the device supports this feature. The ARM9 core processor handles basic navigation and page turns. The layout is straightforward, with physical or on-screen controls for adjusting brightness and font size. This simple interface minimizes distractions, focusing your attention on the content rather than complex settings.
Setup and Daily Use Guide
Setting up this device begins with loading your reading material. The Goshyda BK7019 includes 8 GB of internal storage. You can also expand this capacity by inserting a memory card. This flexibility allows you to keep a substantial library on hand without worrying about running out of space quickly.
Once your books are loaded, you interact with the content through the 7-inch colorful screen. The listing notes a high-speed built-in ARM9 core. This processor handles page turns and file navigation. You should notice smooth transitions when flipping through pages or loading new chapters.
For daily reading, the device offers several practical tools. You can adjust the font size and screen brightness. These settings help reduce eye strain during long sessions. The interface includes a read assistant to make these adjustments easier.
Navigation is straightforward. You can skip pages directly or add bookmarks. If you stop reading, you can return to your last bookmarked page without starting over. The flip-book feature lets you preview chapters and view pictures as thumbnails. This helps you find specific sections or images quickly. The water-proof design provides protection against spills or rain, so you can read by the pool or in light rain. Just remember that the device cannot be submerged in water. These features combine to create a simple, focused reading experience centered on accessibility and ease of use.
Before you buy this reader
You should verify file compatibility before purchasing. This device supports standard formats, but you must check the listing for specific extensions like EPUB or PDF. The 8 GB internal storage is modest. You will likely need a memory card to hold a large library. Ensure your cards are formatted correctly for the ARM9 processor. Cleaning requires a dry, soft cloth. Avoid liquids despite the water-proof design, as submersion is not supported. This reader fits users who prioritize basic e-reading over complex apps. It differs from tablets by lacking multimedia features. It is simpler than color tablets but less versatile. If you need smart features, look elsewhere. If you want a dedicated, lightweight tool for books, this model serves that niche. Keep your software updated if possible, though the ARM9 core suggests limited update paths. Focus on physical durability and screen clarity for the best experience.
