Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this case if you own a 6-inch or 6.8-inch e-reader and want a single protective solution. It suits readers who value a stand for hands-free use and prefer a slim profile that fits easily into backpacks. The adjustable angles and secure magnetic closure make it a practical choice for commuters or travelers who need reliable protection without bulk. It is ideal for those who switch between compatible devices like the Kindle Paperwhite and Kobo Clara HD.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if your device is 7 inches, such as the Kindle Oasis. The silicone clasps are designed for 6 to 6.8-inch models, so larger screens will not fit securely. You should also avoid this case if you rely on an automatic sleep/wake function, as the universal design does not support this feature. Additionally, if you need a hard-shell protector rather than a folio style, this PU leather cover may not provide the impact resistance you require for rough handling.
Verdict: This folio offers a practical, slim solution for 6 to 6.8-inch e-readers with useful stand and closure features. It is a sensible choice for standard-sized devices but does not fit larger 7-inch models.
Key specs explained for this case
Material: PU leather, microfiber, silicone
The outer shell uses polyurethane leather for a soft-touch finish that resists daily scuffs. The interior lining is microfiber, which is gentle on your e-reader screen and prevents scratches. Silicone clasps at the corners provide grip and durability. This combination offers a balance of style and protection, suitable for readers who want a premium look without the weight of genuine leather.
Compatible Screen Size: 6-6.8"
This case is designed for e-readers with screens ranging from 6 to 6.8 inches. It fits models like the Kindle Paperwhite, basic Kindle, Kobo Clara, and PocketBook devices. It does not fit 7-inch devices like the Kindle Oasis. You must verify your specific model fits within this size range before purchasing to ensure a secure fit and proper coverage for your device.
Attachment Method: silicone clasps
The case uses silicone clasps at each corner to hold your e-reader securely in place. This method accommodates slight variations in device thickness and size within the 6-to-6.8-inch range. Unlike rigid frames, these flexible clasps allow for easy insertion and removal. They keep the device snug, preventing it from sliding out while you carry it in a bag or hold it in your hand.
Form Factor: stand cover
This product functions as both a protective cover and a stand. The foldable design allows you to prop up your e-reader at various angles for hands-free reading. This is useful for long reading sessions where holding the device becomes tiring. The cover also protects the screen when closed, combining portability with convenience for readers who prefer different viewing positions.
Weight: 4.94 ounces
The case weighs 4.94 ounces, adding modest bulk to your e-reader. This weight provides substantial protection against drops and bumps without making the device too heavy to hold for extended periods. It is light enough for one-handed reading but substantial enough to offer shock absorption. Compare this to heavier leather cases or lighter fabric sleeves to decide on your preferred balance of protection and portability.
Design and build details
According to the listing, the HoYiXi folio uses a PU leather exterior and a soft microfiber interior. The outer layer offers a soft-touch finish to resist daily scuffs. This design choice allows the case to fit multiple e-reader models without being loose. The elastic hand strap adds comfort for one-handed reading. The dimensions are 7.01 inches in length and 5.12 inches in width. The height is 0.59 inches, and the weight is 4.94 ounces.
