Libra vs Clara Case Specs
Screen Compatibility
The Kobo Libra Colour 7" Clear Case is designed specifically for the 7-inch Kobo Libra Colour eReader. In contrast, the Kobo Clara Colour and BW 6-Inch Clear Case fits the 6-inch Kobo Clara Colour and Kobo Clara BW models. You must choose the correct case for your device size. A 7-inch case will not fit a 6-inch screen, and vice versa. This is the most critical difference. Ensure your eReader matches the compatible screen size listed for each case to ensure a proper fit and full functionality of the device.
Physical Dimensions
Both cases share the same width of 0.59 inches and weigh 1.8 ounces, offering identical slim profiles. However, their height and length differ due to the screen sizes. The Libra case measures 6.54 inches in height and 7.24 inches in length. The Clara case is slightly shorter at 5.24 inches in height and 7.2 inches in length. These measurements reflect the physical footprint of the respective eReaders. You should verify these dimensions against your device to confirm the snug fit provided by the precise cutouts for buttons and ports.
Protection Features
Both the Kobo Libra Colour 7" Clear Case and the Kobo Clara Colour/BW Clear Case offer scratch-resistant material to safeguard your eReader from daily wear, bumps, and scratches. They both feature an anti-slip design to prevent accidental drops. Each case includes precise cutouts that allow easy access to all buttons and ports without removing the cover. This means you can charge your device or adjust settings while the case is on. The protective capabilities are functionally equivalent for their respective devices, ensuring your eReader remains pristine.
Design Style
Both cases are classified as SleepCover cases with a clear color option, allowing you to see the original design of your eReader. The Libra case is available in additional color variations such as Black, Butter Yellow, Dusk Blue, Garden Green, Black Notebook, and Sand Beige Notebook. The Clara case data only explicitly lists the Clear option in the main product title, though variations may exist. If you prefer a specific color or notebook style beyond clear, the Libra case offers more visible variety in its listed options.
Model Specificity
The Kobo Libra Colour 7" Clear Case is tailored exclusively for the Kobo Libra Colour. The Kobo Clara Colour/BW Clear Case is compatible with two distinct models: the Kobo Clara Colour and the Kobo Clara BW. This makes the Clara case slightly more versatile if you own either of those two specific 6-inch devices. The Libra case does not list compatibility with a BW version, only the Colour model. You should check your specific eReader model number to ensure the case matches your device exactly.
