The Protycover Case for 7" Kindle Oasis offers a slim, protective solution with a built-in screen protector for 9th and 10th Gen models. It uses premium PU leather and includes auto sleep/wake functionality. However, you might look for protycover case 7 kindle oasis alternatives if you need waterproofing, a different color, or support for other e-reader brands. This list covers 6 options that share similar screen size compatibility while offering distinct features. Each alternative is selected because its specifications overlap with the original, ensuring they fit your device while addressing different needs.
Some picks focus on durability in wet environments, while others prioritize minimal bulk or added utility like stands. You can choose based on whether you value precise fit, specific materials, or additional protection layers. The following selections provide practical variations for your 7-inch e-reader. Review the specs to find the best match for your reading habits and device requirements.
How each alternative compares
WALNEW 6-7" Universal Waterproof Case
The WALNEW Universal Waterproof Case shifts focus from daily wear to wet environments. Unlike the Protycover’s PU leather build, this option prioritizes robust waterproofing for beach or poolside reading. It measures 5.91 by 7.87 inches, making it significantly larger than the Protycover’s 4 by 5 inch footprint. You gain water protection but sacrifice the slim profile and precise button alignment found in the Protycover design. The included hand strap adds security but increases bulk. This case is ideal if you read near water, whereas the Protycover suits dry, on-the-go use.
CoBak 7" Kindle Paperwhite Stand Case
The CoBak Case adds a hand strap and waterproofing features that the Protycover lacks. While both use PU leather, the CoBak is heavier at 6 ounces compared to the Protycover’s lighter build. It offers auto sleep/wake functionality similar to the Protycover but includes a stand feature for hands-free reading. The dimensions are 4.7 by 6.3 inches, slightly taller than the Protycover. You trade the Protycover’s included screen protector and minimal bulk for enhanced grip and utility. This option fits users who need waterproofing and a stand, rather than just slim protection.
Fintie 7-Inch Kobo Libra Stand Case
The Fintie Stand Case is designed for Kobo Libra devices, not Kindle Oasis models. It features a folding stand and card storage, which the Protycover does not offer. Weighing 5.29 ounces, it is heavier than the Protycover case. The dimensions are 5.91 by 6.69 inches, providing a different fit profile. You give up the Protycover’s auto sleep/wake and built-in screen protector for dedicated Kobo compatibility and organizational features. This alternative is strictly for Kobo Libra owners seeking a stand case, making it irrelevant for Kindle Oasis users.
EMSEEK 6-7" Waterproof E-Reader Pouch
The EMSEEK Waterproof Pouch serves as a dry bag for water sports, differing greatly from the Protycover’s structured case design. It measures 6.3 by 9.45 inches, offering more internal space but less precise fit. Weighing 3.53 ounces, it is lighter than the Protycover but lacks a rigid backplate. You gain superior waterproofing for active water use but lose the auto sleep/wake functionality and the ability to use the device while in the pouch. This option suits those prioritizing water safety over daily handling convenience.
Fintie Slim 7-Inch Kobo Libra Case
The Fintie Slim Case targets Kobo Libra Colour and Libra 2 owners, differing from the Protycover’s Kindle compatibility. It features a magnetic design for auto wake functionality, similar to the Protycover. However, it lacks the included screen protector and rigid backplate found in the Protycover case. The slim profile mirrors the Protycover’s intent but adapts to Kobo’s specific dimensions. You trade the Protycover’s screen protection and Kindle-specific fit for a magnetic Kobo solution. This alternative is only relevant if you own a compatible Kobo device rather than a Kindle Oasis.
Zcooooool 7" Kindle Oasis Clear TPU Case
The Zcooooool Clear TPU Case offers transparent, basic impact protection for Kindle Oasis 9th and 10th Gen models. Unlike the Protycover’s opaque PU leather, this case lets you see the device’s original color. It lacks the built-in screen protector and auto sleep/wake functionality provided by the Protycover. The TPU material provides corner impact resistance but offers less scratch protection for the screen. You gain visibility of the device but sacrifice the added security of a screen protector and the convenience of auto wake features. This suits users who prefer minimal, visible protection.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a 6-inch case on my 7-inch Kindle Oasis?
No, a 6-inch case will not fit a 7-inch device properly. The Protycover Case for 7" Kindle Oasis measures 4 by 5 inches, designed specifically for the larger 7-inch form factor. Using an undersized case risks leaving the screen exposed. Always check the listed screen size compatibility before purchasing a cover to ensure a secure fit.
Which case is best for reading by the pool?
The WALNEW 6-7" Universal Waterproof Case is the top choice for wet environments. It is explicitly designed to protect e-readers during water activities like beach or poolside reading. This blue case offers robust waterproofing, unlike standard PU leather options. It ensures your device remains safe from splashes and submersion while you enjoy outdoor reading sessions.
Do any of these cases include a built-in stand?
Yes, the Fintie 7-Inch Kobo Libra Stand Case and the CoBak 7" Kindle Paperwhite Stand Case include standing features. The Fintie model offers a folding stand for hands-free viewing. The CoBak option also provides utility through its design. These features allow you to prop up your e-reader for comfortable reading without holding it.
Is there a transparent case option for the Kindle Oasis?
The Zcooooool 7" Kindle Oasis Clear TPU Case provides transparent protection. It is designed for 9th and 10th Gen models. This case allows you to see the original device color while offering basic impact resistance. It focuses on corner protection and visibility rather than adding bulk or advanced features like waterproofing or stands.
Which case is suitable for Kobo Libra owners?
The Fintie 7-Inch Kobo Libra Stand Case and the Fintie Slim 7-Inch Kobo Libra Case are ideal for Kobo users. The stand version includes card storage and a folding stand. The slim version uses a magnetic design with auto wake features. Both are tailored for the 7-inch Kobo Libra and Libra 2 models.
Can I use a Kindle Paperwhite case on a Kindle Oasis?
No, you cannot interchange cases between these specific models. The CoBak case is made for the 7" Kindle Paperwhite, while the Protycover is for the 7" Kindle Oasis. They have different dimensions and button placements. Using the wrong case will not provide proper protection or access to device controls.
What is the lightest case option listed?
The EMSEEK 6-7" Waterproof E-Reader Pouch weighs 3.53 ounces. It is a specialized dry bag for water sports. This pouch prioritizes waterproofing over drop protection. It is lighter than the WALNEW case at 2.2 ounces but serves a different protective purpose. Check the weight specs if minimizing carry weight is your priority.
