How each alternative compares
WALNEW 6-7" Universal Waterproof Case
The WALNEW Universal Waterproof Case shifts focus from slim aesthetics to rugged outdoor utility. At 0.79 inches thick and 2.2 ounces, it is slightly bulkier than the TNP case but offers essential waterproof protection for beach or poolside reading. Unlike the TNP cover, this is a universal fit for 6 to 7-inch devices, meaning it may not hug your device as tightly. You gain peace of mind against water damage but lose the precise, form-fitting magnetic closure. Choose this if you read outdoors often and need splash resistance over a sleek profile.
CoBak 7" Kindle Paperwhite Stand Case
The CoBak Stand Case adds a functional stand feature that the TNP case lacks. Weighing 6 ounces, it is heavier than the TNP option, reflecting its more robust PU leather construction and hand strap. This case supports hands-free viewing, making it better for long reading sessions where holding the device is tiring. The TNP case is lighter and slimmer at 4.23 ounces. If you value one-handed comfort and a stand for your 7-inch Kindle, the CoBak is the practical upgrade, despite the extra weight and bulk.
Fintie 7-Inch Kobo Libra Stand Case
The Fintie Stand Case for Kobo Libra is designed for a different ecosystem, fitting Kobo Libra Colour and Libra 2 models. It weighs 5.29 ounces and includes card storage, a feature absent in the TNP case. While the TNP case protects Kindle devices, this Fintie option is irrelevant unless you use a Kobo reader. It offers similar slim protection and a stand function but targets a completely different user base. Pick this only if you have switched to a Kobo device and need a case with specific card slots.
EMSEEK 6-7" Waterproof E-Reader Pouch
The EMSEEK Waterproof Pouch is a specialized dry bag, not a traditional case. It measures 9.45 inches long and weighs 3.53 ounces, offering submersion protection for swimmers. Unlike the TNP case, which allows full access to buttons and screens, this pouch seals your device entirely. You sacrifice ease of use and immediate access for guaranteed water safety. It is ideal for water sports enthusiasts who need their e-reader to float and stay dry. Avoid this if you want daily, all-weather protection with quick access to your screen.
Fintie Slim 7-Inch Kobo Libra Case
The Fintie Slim Case for Kobo Libra offers a minimalistic approach similar to the TNP case but for Kobo devices. It lacks a stand and waterproofing, focusing on precise fit and auto sleep features. At 5.29 ounces, it is comparable in weight to other slim cases. If you own a Kobo Libra, this is a direct alternative to the TNP case for Kindles. It provides essential protection without bulk. Choose this if you prefer a lightweight, no-frills cover for your Kobo device and do not need the stand or rugged features of other options.
Zcooooool 7" Kindle Oasis Clear TPU Case
The Zcooooool Clear TPU Case is designed for the Kindle Oasis, not the Paperwhite. It provides transparent corner protection, keeping the device visible while guarding against drops. This case is much slimmer and lighter than the TNP cover, offering minimal bulk. However, it lacks the full-body protection and magnetic closure of the TNP case. It is best for users who want to showcase their Oasis design while getting basic corner defense. Select this only if you have a Kindle Oasis and prefer a barely-there protective feel over comprehensive coverage.
